June Wedding in Vandalia OH

Every wedding I am asked to photograph is extremely special to me and this one was no exception. I was THRILLED when my cousin asked me to be a bridesmaid, but a little bummed out because I wouldn’t be able to also photograph the big day for her. Then, the more I thought about, why couldn’t I do both??

Thanks to my amazing second shooter (also known as my husband), I was able to take part in the wedding day AND take photos! I was there for all of the couples’s magical wedding day moments, from their first kiss at the alter to the first dance in front of all their loved ones. For the ceremony, I walked down the aisle ahead of the bride, bouquet in one hand and my camera in the other while Kyle snapped photos from the back of the seating area. Yes, it was a little different, but I am so happy they trusted me with all my wedding day duties.

This wedding was intimate and extremely special, sprinkled with little details of those they hold dear. Held on the property of the groom’s parents, the venue was decorated with pastel pinks and rich maroons. The bride glided down the aisle to her new husband, surrounded by family and friends. The ceremony was short and sweet, followed by cheers of joy and handfuls of rice tossed high into the air. I stole the couple away before the party to enjoy a moment together.

Then it was on to the party! The couple blushed and laughed as the matron of honor and best man took the mic and shared stories of the past and well wishes for the future. The bride and her mother shared a special dance in memory of her father who is no longer with us before uncles and cousins stepped in as well. The bridal party stole the show on the dance floor and danced the night away before the new Mr.&Mrs. were sent off in style to start their new life together.
